BUROTEC conducts inspections and monitoring of the manufacture of equipment and materials; Based, on the purchase order, requisition of materials, seller's documentation, specifications and project requirements and local and international regulations.

The equipment and materials inspected are mainly, but not exclusively, Pressure equipment (Columns, Heat exchangers, Reactors, Process furnaces, Filters, Containers), Valves, pipes and fittings required for piping installation on plants, Compressors, Pumps, Metal Structure, Engines, Cold Boxes, Electrical Equipment and Instrumentation, among others.

The scope of inspections of inspected materials may vary depending on the point of the applicable Inspection Point Plan; from the start of manufacturing (traceability of materials), operational tests or final inspections; below are the points of action that we essentially carry out in the inspections:

  • Pre-Inspection Meeting.
  • Presence of welding approvals.
  • Visual and dimensional inspection.
  • Presence of Hydraulic Testing.
  • Final inspection.
  • Operating tests and FAT.
  • Surface coating inspection.

These points are complemented by a verification of the correct realization of the previous points of the Inspection Plan of each team. Using API inspectors and Certified NDT (Level II and III).

API 653: API Code 653"Tank Inspection, Repair, Alteration and Reconstruction" provides the minimum requirements for maintaining the integrity of steel storage tanks used in the oil and chemical industry built under the API650 Standard and its API 12C precursor, after they have been placed in service; this standard provides guidance for your inspection, Repair, alteration and reconstruction.

API 510: The API Code 510 Pressure Vessel Inspection Code: Maintenance Inspection, Rating, Repair, and Alteration"" describes the Maintenance Inspection procedure, Classification, repair and alteration of pressure vessels used by the oil and chemical industries that have been put into service and constructed in accordance with Section VIII of the ASME code and other recognized pressure vessel codes.

API 570: The API Code 570 "Piping Inspection Code: In-service Inspection, Rating, Repair, and Alteration of Piping Systems"" covers inspection procedures, Classification, repair and alteration to determine the integrity of fiberglass-reinforced plastic or metal pipe systems (Frp) and the associated pressure relief devices that have been put into service. In addition, provides reasonably accurate and timely assessments to determine whether any changes in pipe condition could compromise its continued and safe operation.

To carry out tank inspection under API standards 653, API 510 AND API 570, BUROTEC has certified inspectors in each of the latest technology standards and non-destructive tests:

  • Boroscopy
  • Radiography
  • Hardness test
  • Eddy currents
  • Visual inspection
  • Penetrating Liquids
  • Metallography
  • Ultra conventional sound
  • Phased Array: Particle magnetic
  • TOFD
  • Ultrasound Scan A/B/C
